A MATTER OF INTEGRITY- TRUE VIRTUE
Pastor Sam
Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others … who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken. Psalm 15:1-3, 5 NIV
Integrity is when your behavior matches your beliefs.
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. Proverbs 10:9 NIV
Reputation is who others think you are.
Integrity is who you really are.
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First, clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.” Matthew 23:25-26 NIV
What’s your integrity worth?
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 NIV
THREE AREAS TO EXAMINE
Where you are most defensive.
What you don’t want others to know.
What you criticize in others.
Talent can get you to the top, but only integrity will keep you at the top.
Do what’s right and trust God with the results.
Your integrity is easier to keep than it is to recover.
